Transparency

Transparent Hermes Kelly Bag from 1996.
So incredibly impractical and yet so perfect.
I love transparent bags for reasons that I cannot put into words - must be something about how it completely strips away all privacy that a handbag is meant to represent.
This is the handbag equivalent to a sheer skirt or micro-mesh top - trends that are overtaking blogs and the streets.

What do you think? How do you feel about transparency?

I quite like it as long as I can be restrained with what I put in it...no secret copies of The Daily Mail or anything that might leak... might have to be quite conscious about contents... like a pretty rose or something...

I don't know if I could do it! I agree with you about handbags representing privacy.

I don't think I'd ever be able to use a transparent bag. I'd feel too open, exposed. I like the fact that handbags can be so private. Besides, I have condoms in my bag that were given to me on the street by promo girls. I have a feeling people wouldn't like the idea of seeing them haha. Forever loving your blog girl ♥

I love transparent items! The recent transparent Prada clutch was amazing. My god, the only thing I can think of right now is where in the world I can possibly find one of these!

This bag is killer! There is something so voyeuristic about transparent bags.... and I'm with you... I love them. There are a ton of transparent bags making their way through the blogosphere, like the Furla Candy Bag, but there is something to be said for the classic look of the Kelly bag being transformed into something modern!

Amazing find!
